Third-Party Links and Ticketing

Down may show events from third-party sources and link out to ticketing or event websites. When you leave our app to view or buy tickets elsewhere, that site is operated by its own company under its own terms and privacy policy. Down does not earn revenue from those ticket purchases.

• We are not responsible for ticket delivery, pricing changes, or customer service on external sites

Information We Collect

Personal Information

• Name, email address, date of birth
• Profile information (photos, bio, interests, languages)
• Location data (city and precise location when you use map features)
• Gender identity and relationship status (optional)
• Optional lifestyle preferences (e.g. 🍷, 🚬, 🌿, 💊) if you add them to your profile
• Verification photo (when you submit for the verified badge; used for identity verification only)

Usage Information

• Events you view, RSVP to, or create
• Messages sent within the app (group chats and direct messages)
• Likes, passes, and matches in People Nearby; friend connections
• App interactions and preferences
• Device information and identifiers (including push notification token)

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve our event discovery and social features
• To connect you with relevant events and people; to show your profile to other users in your city (e.g. People Nearby, event attendee lists) in line with your privacy settings
• To facilitate communication between users (chats, direct messages)
• To send notifications about events, messages, and matches (including push notifications)
• To verify your identity when you request the verified badge
• To analyze app usage and improve user experience (subject to your consent in Security & Privacy)
• To comply with legal obligations

Subscriptions & Purchases

Down offers optional paid subscriptions ("Down Pro") through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. When you subscribe:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
• We collect purchase history and subscription status through our payment processor, RevenueCat, to manage your access to premium features
• Subscription data (plan type, start/end dates, renewal status) is stored to provide your premium features
• We do not store your payment card details — all payment processing is handled by Apple or Google

RevenueCat acts as our subscription management provider. Their privacy policy governs how they process transaction data on our behalf.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data in line with our retention practices. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone; if you sign up again later, you will have a new account. You do not need to contact support to delete your account.
